Treatment with sulindac sulphide, ibuprofen, and indomethacin, but not naproxen, selectively reduced Aβ42 relative to total Aβ levels. Experiments were done in Chinese hamster ovary cells (a, c, d, e), human neuroglioma cells (b), and fibroblast deficient in COX-1 and COX-2 (f), two known enzyme targets of NSAIDs.
