Fabrizio Chiti was born in 1971 and graduated in 1995 in Biological Sciences from the University of Florence, Italy, and attained a PhD degree (D.Phil) in Chemistry in 1999 from the University of Oxford. His research, carried out under the supervision of Prof. C.M. Dobson, concerned studies on protein folding. His post-doc work, carried out in the field of protein aggregation and amyloid formation, was carried out at the University of Florence for 2 years and at the University of Cambridge for 1 year. In November 2002 he became Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Florence and is now, starting from December 2010, Full Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Florence.
