This paper appears to be based on the premise that 'tau hyperphosphorylation in AD may result in part from deregulation of Ndlk' (neuronal cdc2-like kinase). Ratio of this kinase activity in prefrontal vs. cerebellare cortex was found to be higher in AD than in control brains. It would have been interesting to know whether this ratio may have been related to NFT density in individual brains.
