From the "AlzGene" team:
We would like to alert AlzGene users that for SNP rs2227564 (P141L) there is potential overlap between the "Mayo" sample (Myers, 2004) and the "MCR" sample (Ertekin-Taner, 2005). However, since a) the number of overlapping samples is expected to be small as compared to the number of samples from all studies included here, and b) both studies presumably measure the same effect, we do not expect the summary odds ratio of the meta-analysis for this SNP to be affected severely.
We invite authors of both groups to resolve the details of this issue, and to submit their data from non-overlapping samples directly to AlzGene.
