Description
Do you enjoy journal club more than the bench? Do you edit your friends’ manuscripts? Are you an Alzforum junkie? And: do you think you have the famous reporter’s nose for what’s new? If those are "yesses," then science journalism might be for you. There is an opportunity at Alzforum for freelance work, with potential for growth.
Working on assignment from an editor, you would report and explain, in lively conversational English, how upcoming papers or conference presentations advance or challenge ADRD research, and science of the aging brain more generally. You would report broadly and deeply, consulting independent data sources and soliciting comment from multiple experts, including corresponding authors, key opinion leaders, critics, and other stakeholders. You would place the new work in context, exploring its news value and attendant debates.
Requirements

- Excellent writing skills, including robust grasp of English grammar
- Ability to communicate effectively with scientists
- Ability to work independently and under deadline
- Ability to identify and report news at conferences
