Description

The NYU Center for Cognitive Neurology is currently interviewing candidates for an open position in the Cognitive Neurology Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The Cognitive Neurology Fellowship aims to recruit the most qualified aspiring cognitive neurologists to a dynamic, rigorous cognitive neurology fellowship, and foster a program that will educate trainees on the latest and most comprehensive approaches to the diagnosis and management of  patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and advance trainee careers as related to translation/clinical research, clinical trials, and general career development skills. Year 1 involves ~60-70 percent outpatient clinical time with faculty in the Barlow Center for Memory Disorders, NYU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and related centers to build clinical acumen in ADRD and begin to develop a research project with a mentor. An optional Year 2 would be offered for fellows to spend up to 90 percent time on a research plan developed and initiated during Year 1, with the hope that this will lead to independent external funding from foundations and/or the National Institutes of Health. Clinical practice and research exposure will be augmented by didactics, journal clubs, and conferences.

Requirements

All applicants are expected to have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited accredited neurology residency and be board-eligible or board-certified in adult neurology prior to beginning the fellowship.
