Description

McGill is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the laboratory of Professor A. Claudio Cuello at its Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics for collaborative studies on Alzheimer's disease pathology and the search for novel therapeutic strategies. The Cuello Group is well recognized internationally, and past trainees are occupying leading positions in North America and Europe. Lab members have received significant Prizes and Awards. The research activities of the Lab are co-directed with Sonia Do Carmo (Research Associate) who has strong credentials as an outstanding molecular neurobiologist.

Annual Salary:: (AMURE Post-Doctoral Fellow Researcher) $45,000 to $60,000 according with qualifications, plus benefits.

Hours per Week: 35 (Full time)

Supervisor: Full Professor

Position Start Date: 2024-07-01

Position End Date: 2025-06-31, renewable by mutual agreement.

Requirements

Competitive candidates must have completed their Ph.D. or equivalent degree in relevant fields not more than five years (60 months) prior to an appointment start date.

Candidates must have a strong background in fundamental aspects of neuroscience, neurochemistry, immunohistochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and a serious interest in brain aging and neurodegenerative processes. The selected candidate will be involved in multidisciplinary work.

They should be comfortable with manuscript preparation and co-supervision of graduate students. Experience in computational drug discovery and design would be a plus.
