Progressive Supranuclear Palsy vs Alzheimer's Disease: Aβ40 (CSF)
Meta-analysis showed that Aβ40 levels in cerebrospinal fluid of individuals with progressive supranuclear palsy were lower than in people with Alzheimer’s disease (effect size = 0.768, p < 0.0001). For comparison, the level of Aβ40 in the CSF was about 10 percent lower in AD patients than control subjects, a difference of uncertain biological significance.
