Changes in the structural complexity of the aged brain.
Aging Cell. 2007 Jun;6(3):275-84.
PubMed.
In the first sentence of this abstract, the authors point out the complexity of structural changes of neurons in the aging brain—a very accurate and appropriate caution. Yet they next move on to blanket statements about dendritic complexity and length, variables whose age-related changes depend heavily on the specific brain regions and ages under consideration.
