Catalano et al. hypothesize that disruption of fibrils could result in an increase of soluble Aβ oligomers. I want to test this hypothesis in vivo, specifically that disrupting fibrils leads to increases in ADDLs that correlates with cognitive deficits in non-transgenic Long-Evans rats.
My question is, What could I use that would disrupt and solubilize fibrils? I have heard of clioquinol, but I was wondering if there are other options that I am unaware of?
