Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology seeks full-time behavioral neurologists at any rank to join its team within the Center for Comprehensive Care and Research on Memory Disorders (The Memory Center) and the Healthy Aging & Alzheimer’s Research Care (HAARC) Center, which serves as an aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementia (ADRD) research hub dedicated to the discovery of neurobiologic, cognitive, genetic, lifestyle, psychosocial, and associated factors that promote resilience, resistance, and health span.
The appointees will join a multidisciplinary team represented by neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, nursing, and social work. The primary role for the appointees will be to establish a strong clinical presence and to develop or extend a focus of scholarship. Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows will be expected, as will participation in clinical trials related to Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias (ADRD). These positions may require some ambulatory practice at UChicago Medicine offsite practices.
Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Scholarship and research activities may overlap with and enhance one or more areas of strength within the Biological Sciences Division (BSD) including neurobiology, computational neuroscience, genetics, neuroimaging, and immunology. As such, the appointees may collaborate closely with the Neuroscience Institute, the Institute for Population and Precision Health, the Aging Research Program within the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, the Center for Neurocognitive Outcomes Improvement Research, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, and numerous other programs, centers, institutes, and departments.

Requirements
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be board-certified or eligible in neurology, and 4) have completed a least one year of postdoctoral training in behavioral neurology/cognitive disorders.
