Description

The Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND, https://mind.uci.edu), the Department of Neurology, and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of California, Irvine invite applications for a tenure track faculty position in clinical neuropsychology. 

The position will be at the rank of assistant professor in the School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, University of California, Irvine.

Ideal candidates will be experts in aging and cognition whose research and interests would complement other areas of strength within either the Department of Neurology or the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and would have a research program that builds upon the UCI Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) research programs. Example areas of research include studies of Alzheimer’s disease and AD-related disorders (ADRD) diagnoses, the role of language and bilingualism, mild behavior impairment and neuropsychiatric symptoms, dementia and Down syndrome, health and healthcare disparities, and clinical trials and treatment development.

Tenure-track faculty are expected to mount a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and actively participate in graduate student, medical student, and resident education. High priority will be given to candidates with a track record in AD and ADRD research who can work closely with the ADRC’s clinical core. Successful candidates for this position will have an outstanding record of research, as well as evidence of excellent teaching and mentoring, and a commitment to equity and diversity. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in psychology or equivalent (M.D./D.O./Ph.D.), with a specialization in clinical psychology or neuropsychology and eligibility for licensure.
