raised against sonicated amyloid fibrils grown from synthesized Aβ1–40 peptides (epitope at Aβ residues 5–8)

Specificity

detects amyloid-beta fibrils; exhibits Ab binding to fibrils in the presence of a large excess of Aβ(1–40) monomer, suggesting that Ab is directed against conformational epitopes that only exist in the fibril
