MCI-AD vs MCI-Stable: YKL-40 (CSF)
YKL-40 is thought to be a marker of glial activation and inflammation. Meta-analysis of five comparisons showed that baseline levels of YKL-40 in the cerebrospinal fluid in people with mild cognitive impairment who went on to develop Alzheimer’s dementia did not differ from levels in those who had not declined at follow-up (effect size = 1.125, p = 0.08).
