Overview

Monoclonal antibody 20H2 reacts with mouse CD33m. In initial testing, the antibody was shown to work as a detection reagent in western blotting and as a capture reagent for immunoprecipitation.

Monoclonal antibody 20H2 recognizes mouse CD33m overexpressed in HEK cells. A) Western blot of lysates of HEK293 cells transfected with myc-tagged mouse CD33m or empty vector (mock), probed with 20H2. B) Lysates immunoprecipitated with 20H2; blot probed with anti-myc antibody 9E10. *, non-specific bands. [Coutesy of Christian Haass' laboratory.]

Generation and epitope mapping

This antibody was generated in rats immunized with a peptide in the C-terminal region of isoform-2 (CD33m) of murine CD33, coupled to ovalbumin. Epitope mapping has not been reported.

Specificity

Based on the amino acid sequence of the peptide immunogen, clone 20H2 is expected to react with the short (CD33m)—but not long (CD33M)—isoform of the mouse protein. The antibody is not expected to react with human CD33.
