  1. This paper presents data on the role of fibrillar amyloid βeta in the neuropathology of both Alzheimer disease and Down syndrome, along with comparisons to TG2576 mice. The relationship of various types of amyloidβ to the pathogenesis of AD and to severity of dementia continues to be of interest for understanding the mechanisms of cell dysfunction in AD. There appears to be a close relationship of fibrillar Aβ to dementia severity in these series.
