We need more reports of the neuropathology of aging members of exotic mammalian species. Here is an example that deserves some further investigation as a model of AD. These Chilean "degus" are more closely related to guinea pigs than to lab mice or rats (D Huchon and EJP Douzery, Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 20:238, 2001). View all comments by George M.
