AB is still primary and largely causative in Alzheimer's disease as well as many other neurological disorders. It is true that with the advent of newer technological advances in sectioning, microscopy and inference based experimentation etc... we are witnessing more closely and finely the role(s) APP, AB and PS genes play in the whole scheme of things, however, this does not take away from the basic premise(s) that toxic forms (not just 42) of AB play major roles in neuro toxicity.
