Hello to all,

I'm looking for researchers to trial a new ultra sensitive ELISA that will pick up oligomers of beta amyloid only (no interference from monomers). Some features of the assay:

  • Detects ABeta assemblies only, the first available. (can supply our  conjugated monoclonal that is used in the assay if required for other formats). Has specificity for Oligomeric ABeta and not the isolated monomeric 1-40 or 1-42 peptide.
  • Monomeric ABeta inhibition of assembly capture is a recurring problem in other ELISAs for the detection of ABeta fibrils in test samples- This is not an issue with this assay.
  • To optimize the test for increased sensitivity and to amplify the detection capacity of the ELISA, work is almost complete using proprietary chemiluminescent reagents that will extend the sensitivity of the assay to 1 pg/ml.
  • Works on CSF and Serum
  • The product will be ready by the end of September 2009

Having spoke to folk at ICAD, there seems to be interest in the assay

We are looking for some researchers (approx 20) to trial (for free). Anybody interested?

Thanks

Justin McCarthy
